From Matt Swanson, hospitalist in White Salmon, WA.

For my fellow Washingtonians: this is the latest epidemiological projection from WA state Dept of Health regarding the number of expected coronavirus related cases and deaths to April 7. The number of cases and deaths beyond April 7 will continue on an exponential scale possibly to mid July or further, making these data the tip of the iceberg.

These data highlight the importance of strict social distancing. To flatten the exponential increase in cases could save tremendous numbers of patients in the long term. The more that each one of us follows strict precautions right now, the fewer deaths we will experience in our community. Please do your part and save lives in the coming weeks and months.
